Quickly, accurately and reliably measure your little one’s temperature with this handy Digital Thermometer for oral, rectal or under arm readings.

As a parent you’ll possibly have an idea that your little one has a fever by just feeling their forehead but nothing beats having a handy, reliable and easy to use thermometer in your cupboard (or when you’re travelling) to test their temperature accurately.  That’s where this must-have, nifty 3-in-1 Digital Thermometer comes in and can be used for the whole family - it’s suitable for babies, children and adults!

Measuring your baby's temperature easily and with clinical accuracy (ranging from 32.0°C to 42.0°C) super-fast, in just 60 seconds; this thermometer can be used for oral, rectal (we’ve all been there and dreaded this don’t worry it really doesn’t hurt your baby and just takes a bit of getting used to), or under the arm readings.  It even comes with a protective cover for safe storage and travel.

Important note: Temperature readings vary by people. A normal temperature ranges from 36°C to 37.7°C when taken orally. High prolonged fever requires medical attention especially for young children. Please contact your GP if your child has a high temperature reading.

HOW TO USE

So how does it work? It’s pretty easy but we always recommend keeping hold of the instructions so you have them to refer to depending on which type of read you’re going to be using. Don’t forget that before and after each use you should clean the thermometer tip with alcohol on cotton wool too.

To turn the thermometer on, simply press the Nuby logo to power on, then wait until you see LC on the display.  At that point you’re good to go and just need to decide whether to take an oral, rectal or under the arm reading. We’ve given some details below on each of those so you can skip to the one most relevant to you.

Whichever reading you choose to take, when the temperature has reached its highest point you’ll hear a beep hear a beep sound and the temperature read will display in large, easy to read digital numbers. Easy breezy!

For oral readings: Place the sensor tip of the thermometer under your child’s tongue and gently hold for 60 to 90 seconds. You will hear a beep sound when the temperature reading has been taken. Read the digital display for the temperature.

For rectal readings: Lightly coat the sensor tip with petroleum jelly, for easier insertion before placing your child across your lap. Spread their buttocks apart with index finger and thumb then gently place the sensor tip into the rectum approximately ½ inch for 60 seconds. You will hear a beep sound when the temperature reading has been taken. Read the digital display for the temperature and subtract 0.5°C for the final temperature reading.

For underarm readings: Clean under your little ones armpit with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before placing the sensor tip of the thermometer under the armpit and gently hold for up to 4 minutes. You will hear a beep sound when the temperature reading has been taken. Read the digital display and add 0.5°C for the final temperature reading.

Once you’ve got the reading, you can turn the thermometer off by simply pressing the power button and the display will switch off. The thermometer will automatically turn itself off after 7 minutes to save battery life too in case you forget (easily done!).
