Upgrade your cheese on toast with this delicious Welsh regional favourite recipe! Creamy cheese sauce, slathered on toast. So quick to make and tastes decadent.
Welsh rarebit weaning recipe
Servings: 2
Prep time: 5 mins
Cook time: 5 mins
Ingredients:
2 slices of bread
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp flour
4 tbsp milk of choice
3/4 cup/75g grated cheddar cheese
Steps:
1. In a saucepan, melt the butter and add in the flour, milk and cheese. Stir well until the sauce is smooth and thick.
2. Grill one side of the bread.
3. Spread the cheese sauce over the non toasted side of bread.
4. Grill for a couple of minutes, until bubbling.
5. Allow to cool slightly and then cut into pieces and serve.
6. You could add a drizzle of Worcestershire sauce over the top or black pepper, if you like
