This guide will take you through everything you need to know from putting it together to making a feed, plus tips on descaling and cleaning it.
Putting together your RapidHot
Safety warning: DO NOT lift your RapidHot by the water tank. Now, let’s assemble your new favourite baby formula preparation machine:
- Take the filters, metal drip tray and plastic water filter out of the water tank.
- Place the water collector into position first, then place the metal drip tray on top.
- Before using a filter for the first time, submerge it into a bowl of cold tap water for one minute.
- Once it’s soaked, discard the water and put the filter into the filter holder.
- Fit the filter holder into the water tank with the wider part facing downwards.
- Fill up the water tank, attach it securely to the unit, and you’re good to go.

How to make a feed with your RapidHot and RapidCool
💡 Quick tip: If your RapidHot hasn’t been used in six hours (or it’s your first time using it), run 150ml of boiling water through the system and discard before making a feed.
- Fill the milk powder dispenser provided with your RapidCool with your chosen formula powder.
- Turn off the child lock by holding down the child lock icon.
- Place your RapidCool on the stand under the water dispenser.
- Use the volume icon and arrows to select the right feed size.
- Select the boiling water icon, unlock the child lock again, and press the water drop icon to dispense boiling water.
- Add your formula using the dispenser provided.
- Screw the digital lid onto the RapidCool and shake to mix.
- Flip the RapidCool upside down for at least five seconds to let the thermometer adjust. Tap the circle on the digital lid to activate the Nuby logo.
- When the logo turns green, the feed is ready to pour into your baby’s bottle.
- Always test the temperature on the inside of your wrist before feeding your baby.
How to descale your RapidHot
If your filter is less than four weeks old, you don’t need to replace it when descaling. Here’s what to do:
- If your child lock icon is flashing, it’s time to descale.
- Remove the filter and filter holder. Pour 250ml of white vinegar into the tank, then add 750ml of water.
- Press the boiling water icon, then the child lock, and finally the water drop icon to dispense the descaling solution until the tank is empty.
- Refill the tank with 600ml of fresh water, select the boiling water option, and dispense it into a cup or jug. Discard any remaining water before using the RapidHot again.
- Once descaling is done, pop the filter back in and reassemble the filter holder into the tank.
- If you’ve replaced the filter, follow steps 3-5 from the “Putting Together Your RapidHot” section above.
How to clean your RapidHot
If the water has been sitting in the tank for more than 48 hours, discard it and refill before use.
- Remove the metal drip tray and plastic water collector tray, wash them with soapy water, and wipe the area underneath with a damp cloth.
- Take out the float lid and float from the tank and wash them with warm, soapy water.
- Reassemble everything, and you’re all set.
